Verizon Media partners with America Móvil

Goal

Get mayor coverage in Tier 1 media outlets in Mexico for the announcement of the partnership of Verizon Media and America Móvil in Mexico.

Challenge

Verizon Media was a company with very low brand awareness among media outlets as it had started its PR and media outreach activities only focused in marketing and advertising media just a few months before. América Móvil -strong local player- did not involve any spokesperson in the announcement.

Strategy

We set up 14  interviews with top business media outlets in Mexico the day prior to the launch. The press release was share under embargo to these reporters.

Results

We obtained 64 publications on most important  technology and business media outlets in Mexico and Argentina such as Expansión, Reforma, Forbes, Milenio, El Norte, Infobae and Economía Hoy, among others, 69% of the publications were in Tier 1 media outlets, adding up an earn media of USD +55K.
